Never Forget 



I can’t say I know what it was like,
or understand.

I can’t say I would have been brave,
or seen it coming.

I only know what someone told me
and have seen what someone showed me.

Even the worst stories I’ve heard
are surely not the worst stories that occurred.

I heard that hate strangled man personification
and man strangled the Jew.

I heard that warmth was gold
and life was sold
